iPhone innovation has become a major focus for top Apple executives, including hardware boss John Ternus, who is a leading candidate to eventually succeed CEO Tim Cook, Bloomberg reported last month. Cook, however, indicated in an interview last month that he is in no hurry to step down.
Despite the iPhone Air's struggling sales, a known leaker claims Apple will push ahead with at least two generations of the device, while also suggesting the standard iPhone 18 will see virtually no exterior design changes.
Apple has been heavily rumored to have been considering developing a folding device since as far back as 2021. Bloomberg reported in January of that year that the tech behemoth had begun early work on a folding model to compete with similar devices from Samsung, as well as to allow for a larger screen in a smaller format.
